David’s educational background is firmly based in communications and technology. He brings to Milazzo & Associates a strong knowledge of cutting edge information technology and communicative management skills. David is a graduate of California State University, Bakersfield and holds advanced certifications in Apple and network technologies.

Linda L. Milazzo

COO & Office Manager


Linda is the co-founder of Milazzo & Associates with her husband, David Y. Milazzo. Linda enjoyed a childhood working within her family’s business and served as a corporate officer.  She culls a wide range of knowledge from those formative experiences.  Her education includes a BA in English from California State University, Fresno and extended studies at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.


Now as acting COO and Manager of the firm, Linda’s responsibilities are as varied as ever; from accounts payable and receivable to payroll and hiring, Linda tends to the requirements and resources of the office at all times.

Mike M. Smith, AIA

Senior Associate Architect


Mike has been with Milazzo & Associates for over 10 years.  Mike is an ArchiCAD designer with focus on cutting-edge CAD and 3D technologies. He has exceptional abilities in rendering, lighting and sun study, 3D fly-through, and photo-realism in the form of materials, finishes, and reflection understanding. Mike is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is an indispensable asset to the firm.

David Y. Milazzo, AIA

CEO & Principal Architect


David began his career in 1974 earning a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo prior to becoming licensed by the State of California and certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He quickly became one of Bakersfield’s rising young designers. With an initial partnership offered to him at 34 years of age with Robert Clement (Clement/Milazzo), David was on his way to designing some of the most notable structures in the region. In 1983, David ventured out and formed Milazzo & Associates.


As a member of the American Institute of Architects, David is a past president of the local AIA Golden Empire Chapter and served as the Chapter representative on the State Board of AIA California Council followed by two terms on the AIACC Government Relations and Legislative Committee. He currently serves as an Examination Commissioner with the California Architect’s Board.


David served eight years on the City Planning Commission with two terms as Chairman; served as Chairman of the Metropolitan Habitat Conservation Plan Steering Committee; and was Chairman of the Kern County Planning Advisory Committee during the six year period prior to its replacement with the Planning Commission.


He is a charter board member and Past President of the Bakersfield Art Foundation, a "Future Bakersfield" delegate, and a committee member of the Vision 2020 Downtown Theme project.


David is also a past Board Member of both the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, and the Smart Growth Coalition of Kern County.  He is a Past President of the Bakersfield North Rotary Club and Rotary District 5240 Chairman of the Ambassadorial Scholarship and the World Peace Scholarship Committees awarding over $150,000 in international scholarships annually.

Bonnie L. Moritz

Executive Assistant


Bonnie brings a wealth of knowledge from her experience in a variety of industries. As the initial point of contact for communication with Milazzo & Associates, Bonnie is an extraordinary task master. Keeping notation of all project and client details is no simple undertaking, and she handles it with speed and grace. Milazzo & Associates is proud to add Bonnie’s talents to the organization.

Katie E. Kreiser, AIT

Architect In Training


Katie joined Milazzo & Associates in 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with honors from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona. She is enrolled in the Intern Development Program (IDP) as prescribed by the National Counsel of Architectural Registration Boards and the California Architect’s Board. Her mastery of Building Information Management (BIM) is a key asset to Milazzo & Associates.
